Certification Requirements (Summary)

IVEXSI certification validates conformity with institutional planning and decision frameworks, not professional licensing, project approval or execution capability.

Certification is granted exclusively on the basis of documented evidence, normative alignment and ethical commitment.

Eligibility (Founding Phase)

During the initial implementation phase, eligibility for IVEXSI planning certification is restricted to:

Civil Engineers and Architects
Holding an active professional registration with CREA or CAU (Brazil)
With documented experience in planning and decision processes related to existing buildings

Eligibility criteria may be expanded in future phases through formal institutional definition.

Basis of Evaluation

Certification assessment is based on:

application of admissibility criteria;
structured decision-making (go / no-go);
recognition and declaration of technical, legal and urban risks;
clear allocation of professional responsibility;
conformity with applicable IVEXSI standards.

The certification process includes:

Application and eligibility verification
Submission of a documented Planning Dossier
Normative evaluation against IVEXSI standards
Institutional deliberation by the Certification Committee

Certification is not automatic and is not granted through payment.

Scope and Limitations

IVEXSI certification:

does not replace legal professional attributions;
does not validate design, calculation or execution;
does not imply project or regulatory approval;
does not constitute training or consultancy.

All professional responsibility remains with licensed professionals and applicable authorities.

Detailed certification requirements, checklists and evaluation criteria are defined through controlled institutional documents and are provided separately as part of the certification process.

Vertical Engineers with a Master’s-level qualification may act as certified professionals, including performing training and auditing activities for certification, and will be formally registered in the IVEXSI public professional registry.
